Sad, but very interesting

I read this book in one night. I really liked it. I still cannot imagine doing to myself what Kessa did to herself. It's not an act to get attention, it's a real disease. Anyone who has it really needs help. I think that Kessa had a lot of courage. There was no way I could have stayed awake during the chest tube procedure. It was so graphic that I almost fainted. This author is very talented. He really gives an insight into the minds of these young girls.

This isn't a diet, not the way you think. It is a change in thought. It is so easy to do this diet. I don't have to count anything, just eat... no flour, no sugar products. I lost 20 pounds in the first 30 days and no exercising done!!

Although this book isn't quite as interesting as Crystal Love Secrets, which is unfortunately out of stock, it is still an excellent resource for anyone interested in crystals and practical applications towards everyday life. Overall, a complete and accurate guide - excellent for beginners.

This is one of the best books you can read. The auther is fantastic and loads it full of information i could not find anywhere else[i.e.,the stones hardness on the mohs scale.that is hard to find on all crystals}If you have a fasination with crystals, it is a definite read.

Interesting & Weird

I cannot recall where I purchased a copy of this from. My version is from the 1988 so it is filled with various information that is hard to come by. What I found most interesting about the book was the way he writes about the planets and the various light rays that the planets are giving the crystals. I must say that was something different I had yet to read before. I also liked the meditations for the crystals towards the end of the book and will use some in my practice. What was confusing was the two undiscovered planets, one of them being Tulscan [not sure of exact spelling but along those lines]. Didn't really find that appealing. Overall I great book.

Sue-Ellen Welfonder is a Scotophile whose burning wish to make frequent trips to the land of her dreams led her to a twenty-year career with the airlines.

Now a full-time writer, she's quick to admit that she much prefers wielding a pen to pushing tea and coffee. She makes annual visits to Scotland, insisting they are a necessity, as each trip gives her inspiration for new books.

Proud of her own Hebridean ancestry, she belongs to two clan societies: the MacFie Clan Society and the Clan MacAlpine Society. In addition to Scotland, her greatest passions are medieval history, the paranormal, and dogs. She never watches television, loves haggis, and writes at a 450-year-old desk that once stood in a Bavarian castle.

But as he comes to know her, and their passionate desires flare, he begins to wonder if Gelis isn't the key to lifting the curse that has plagued them. Determined to protect her at all costs, he'll fight the dangerous forces that threaten her, even if it means closing off his heart to what it truly wants.

The only issue I had with the book was this curse. Well, not the curse itself, but the explanation of it. It was given in bits throughout the story, but I still don't feel any closure in fully understanding it. This is part of a series, I believe, so it is possible that it is further explained better in one of the other books.

The plot flowed well and I adored the characters. I loved the side-story with the secondary characters, Anice and Hugh, too. This was a great mix if historical and paranormal romance. The setting and her depiction of it was superb. Now I want to go to Scotland !

If You Want Steamy or Great Storyline, You Won't Find It Here

There just weren't any real stand out characters in this book for me. The two main characters are poorly fleshed out (as is the story line). I didn't feel I knew them at all and therefore, I couldn't care for them either. No being ga-ga for the hero, no rooting for the heroine, no laugh out loud moments or tugging at your heart-strings. It's just not there.

Sometimes it's the title of the book that makes you want to buy but this title is misleading in that the hero never seduces the heroine, he doesn't have to because there's no real conflict of any consequence between them. In fact you will be 300+ pages into this 364 page story before the hero actually beds his "bride". If I remember correctly there are about 3 kisses, the bedding and about half another intimate scene and that's all you get. I wouldn't have minded at all at the lack of "steamy moments" if there had been a better build up of sexual tension but that was missing for me.

There is the one scene at the very end of the book that was semi-exciting when the hero confronts his foe(s) but that doesn't save the story, at least for me.

This author consistently gets good reviews and has deserved them but unfortunately, I didn't feel this book stood up well to her past efforts.

great paranormal historical romance

Following the death of his second wife Ronan "The Raven" MacRuari vows no more marriages. He fears for the life of any future bride at his home Castle Dare as he believes he is either paranormally cursed or haunted by an unknown mortal adversary with access to his home; though he leans towards the supernatural because the natural explanation means a friend or family member has been killing his wives.

However, the twice widower is placed in a quandary when he must marry a MacKenzie to pay off a family debt to the clan. Laird MacKenzie sends a euphoric Lady Gelis to be The Raven's third bride. She has the gift of sight and has seen her intended in a vision. She prepares to bring sunshine into his heart while confronting the dark forces of evil who need her dead in order to possess the Raven Stone that MacRuari owns.

SEDUCING A SCOTTISH BRIDE is a great paranormal historical romance starring two caring individuals whose love puts them at odds with each other. He would rather be celibate than place his Lady Gelis in harm; she would rather battle the entire forces of hell than give up her love. Fans will read this in one delightful sitting so set aside the time.

How the Lakers Regained the Title

"Show Time" by Pat Riley is a comprehensive look at the 1986-87 season of the Los Angeles Lakers, chronicling the franchise's march to its fourth title of the 1980s.

Riley incorporates a brief history of the Eighties Lakers leading up to the '86-'87 season. He recounts how Laker management held the core of the team together following the team's loss to Houston in the 1986 Western Conference Finals. Wisely, they made no trades that would have given them a Twin Towers lineup that was de rigueur at the time, but instead returned to their core philosophy of fast break basketball that ultimately won them the championship. As for L.A.'s heated rivalry with the Boston Celtics, whom they defeated in the Finals that year, Riley pulls no punches in airing his opinion of the Boston franchise and its management.

The author reveals some of the inner workings of the team that led them back to the top, including the Career Best program that measured effort as well as hard statistical data. He discusses motivation and asserts that having a stable family situation is an important factor in one's professional performance. This book has application beyond sports, as it discusses principles that can be applied in the business world.

To my knowledge, this was the first game-by-game, "journal" style look back at an NBA season put out in the 1980s (in the years after this book appeared, it seems that several others were released). Riley has an engaging writing style, and this book would be appreciated by anyone, regardless of rooting preference, who followed the NBA in the 1980s or is interested in the history of the league.

Riley Takes You Inside

Pat Riley is the legendary NBA coach who lead the Los angeles Lakers to four NBA titles in the 80's. In 1984-85, the Lakers won their third title of the decade (second under Riley) over their hated rivals the Boston Celtics. There were high expectations for the 85-86 season, but they were knocked out of the playoffs by the underdog Houston Rockets and failed to defend their title. The book takes us through the 86-87 season in which Mr. Riley strives to get his team back on top. We get to see how an NBA season underfolds from the point of view of arguably the best coach in history. He gives an insider's thoughts on all-time greats like Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and James Worthy. Mr. Riley has a wry sense of humor and his take on things makes this book a highly entertaining and insightful read.

a fascinating account of the greatest NBA team ever

Coach Riley provides basketball fans of all ages with a game-by-game chronicle of the Los Angeles Lakers' glorious 1986-87 season. Riles explains why complacency drove the previous year's team to an early exit in the Western Conference Finals and tells how he reversed their attitudes. He takes you inside the locker rooms and profiles the club's stars. Peter May's book, The Last Banner, claims that the 1985-86 Boston Celtics are the best team ever. Even though I haven't read this publication, I'd have to disagree with that statement. The Lakers were a very special team in '86-'87 that were on a mission. I would highly recommend for anyone to obtain a copy of this book. It certainly is a collector's item that I will forever treasure.
